This solution is a possible replacement for the MD464ZM/A Apple Thunderbolt to FireWire Adapter that has been discontinued by Apple.

This is a FireWire PCIe card housed within a chassis that provides Thunderbolt 3 connections to your Mac or PC.

It means you can connect the Thunderbolt 3 cable to the device and then connect FireWire devices to the 3 FireWire ports on the unit.

There are 2 x FireWire 800 (9-pin) ports and 1 x FireWire 400 (6-pin) port.

You can also connect a display to this device using a DisplayPort cable connected to your display.

No drivers required to be installed.
