The Zoom Rod S generates a similar effect as the Soft Zoom, enabling both hard and soft light with the softbox. For customers already owning RFi softboxes, this rod will enable more light shaping opportunities.
Zoom in, zoom out, with light. The Profoto Zoom Rod S is the perfect tool for creative photographers that like to think outside the softbox. It lets you shape light with minimal effort and works for both flat fronts and protruded heads.
Attach it to a softbox (min. 34cm deep) and use it both with and without a diffuser to create the exact look you need. With a diffuser, you will gain a more even light source, removing the hotspot without losing power. Without a diffuser, it will increase the light output and generate specular reflections.
The Zoom Rod S is compatible with all heat resistant Profoto softboxes and Profoto Soft Zoom Reflectors.

The Profoto Zoom Rod S (Short) is also an alternative to the rod kit included with the Profoto Soft Zoom Reflector 180 (or replacement for one included with Soft Zoom Reflector 120). It is suitable when working in smaller spaces or when the flash head needs to be very close to the subject matter.
