Optical design resulting in staggering image sharpness
This lens comprises 11 elements in 9 groups, including one aspherical and two ED elements. The aspherical element corrects comatic aberration and field curvature, while the ED elements reduce axial chromatic aberration. The lens design, with the aperture in the middle, minimizes distortion and lateral chromatic aberration, ensuring edge-to-edge sharpness without electronic correction. It achieves a 0.5x maximum magnification ratio for close-up photography, allowing flexible focal control when tilting close to the subject, valuable in commercial photography like still life.
Tilting and shifting mechanisms that make most of the benefits of the medium format sensor
Tilting of ±10°and shifting of up to ±15mm control the focal plane and perspective of the subject. The revolving operation of changing tilting and shifting directions within ±90° is combined with the T/S revolving operation, where the angle of tilting and shifting direction can be adjusted from perpendicular to parallel within 0°- 90° to give a high level of shooting freedom.
The lens features an integrated sensor that monitors shifting and rotating movements. This information is viewable in Live View and is embedded into the image data for utilisation in RAW processing.
Compact design for an easy shooting experience
Measuring 14.9cm in length and weighing 1.25kgg, this lens features a 72mm filter thread size. Its innovative focus system extends the front group to maintain a compact overall lens size. Meticulous attention has been dedicated to the operational elements' design, resulting in a highly functional layout that alleviates the burden on users during extended shooting sessions.
