Since the pioneering days of photography applying Tilt and Swing movements has been the pro’s way to get objects in focus from front to back. Thanks to modern Mirrorless bodies and smaller view cameras like the Cambo Actus this technique has become accessible to every photographer. It enables positioning the plane of focus where it’s needed. When you’re shooting tiny objects though – like in jewellery, watches or macro photography – it’s often inevitable to apply focus stacking as well.
By adding the AC-377 focus stacking rail to a Cambo Actus the photographer gets the best of both worlds. The unit enables the use of a Cognisys or similar stepper motor and controller. This makes the stacking procedure easy and convenient. The unit is moving the sensor, not the lens and therefore the perspective between the individual shots in a stack is unchanged. Essential to avoid errors in the final rendering. Furthermore the regular movements of the Actus are still at your disposition. Thanks to the large camera extension it’s possible to achieve extreme magnifications and the Actus gives access to a large choice of new and legacy lenses, including some outstanding Schneider, Linos and Rodenstock macro options.
