The Cambo Wide RS Technical Body

For those looking for something a Iittle more compact and lighter than the Wide DS, but still require the image-placement shift movements, the Cambo Wide RS is the perfect choice. Whether you use it on a tripod or hand-held for more spontaneous shooting, the Wide RS camera will open up new photographic possibilities for you. This exciting addition to the Cambo Wide family feature both lateral and vertical shift movements of the rear image plane. These precision, accelerated spindle movements, which create 5mm of movement per revolution, provide architectural photographers with many of the image-placement movements they require, while giving digItal photographers the ability to create amazing vertical and horizontal panoramic images through stitching several exposures together.

Cambo Wide RS WRS-1600 technical camera

The Cambo Wide RS WRS-1600 camera body is the ideal companion to a Phase One or Leaf digital back for architectural, interiors or landscape photographers. The rise and fall capabilities of the camera ensure that building architecture perspectives are kept straight. The horizontal and vertical movements also allow for multiple images to be captured and then later stitched to produce wide panorama images.

the unique feature of the Cambo WRS-1600 is that it has the ability to rotate from horizontal to vertical position without removing the digital back or the camera from the tripod. A simple flip of the camera body changes the orientation and there is no-relevelling required and no re-focusing and no cleaning of dust on the digital back sensor due to dust being introduced in the rotation process.

Like the other Cambo Wide models, the RS features interchangeable interfaces for Phase One, Leaf, Hasselblad, and Sinar digital backs. Mounts are available for digital backs with Hasselblad V-series and H-series interfaces as well as Mamiya 645AFD. Contax 645AF, Leaf’s AFi and Sinar HY6.

The benefit of the Wide RS family is using the Rodenstock HR lenses that have been specifically designed for high resolution digital backs. Thanks to the high specification and tolerances of their retro focus design, they provide the ultimate in image quality and there there is no additional light fall-off and no color fringing on the sensors with micro lenses due to extremely oblique light incidence.

In order to accomplish nearly any architectural or landscape assignment the Cambo Wide RS accepts the full range of WDS lens panels that incorporate the Rodenstock HR Digaron lenses. Choose from focal lengths ranging from 23mm up to 90mm. Other focal lengths, retro fitting of older or existing lenses, and electronic shutter options are available on request.

The Cambo WRS-5000 series is the top model of the Wide RS Family, made from high grade aluminium as used in aerospace technology.

Cambo WRS-600

Cambo Wide Ultimate

(WRS-600)

The Cambo Wide WRS-600 is designed for architectural and landscape photographers that wish to use a digital back without removing and exchanging it with the focussing screen, enabling the photographer to compose, focus, slide the digital back in place and shoot immediately.

Manufactured from high grade aerospace aluminium, the camera platform is one piece unit which prevents any distortion as the camera plane is parallel and only the back is designed to shift, rise and fall. Horizontal shift 40mm, Vertical shift 60mm, Rise 40mm and Fall 20mm.

The lenses from the Wide DS and Wide RS range of cameras are compatible with the WRS-600. For Tilt and Swing functionality, this is achieved by using the Cambo digital lenses with Schneider and Rodenstock optics. The T/S range have 5 degrees of Tilt and Swing.

The WRS-600 accepts the Cambo SLW digital camera back adapter plates for Leaf, Phase One and Hasselblad.

The CS loupe with Schneider optics is the ideal focussing aid when using a digital back without live view. The loupe kit attaches to the focussing screen, it can be positioned in each corner to check movement and sharpness. The kit is available for the WRS-600 and the Wide Camera range.
